TWN BD250 rahmen nummer

Beitrag von 125T »

Hello everybody!
Unfortunately I do not speak german...
I want to ask you about the rahmen and motor nummer of the TWN BD250 (1939?). Where are they located? I search them and I could not found them anywhere. Can someone tell me where to go with my search?

Thank you in advance for your answers!
Best regards.

Hallo an alle!

Hello, Christian!
I did not mean to be disrespectful. On the contrary. I hope that you did not interpreted my post in german like so.

...

Another question: If I did not have the first model of BD250, where should I look for the frame number and also for the engine number?
I saw that some models have the serial number plate (typenschield?) mounted on the toolbox, others in front of the frame and also an oval shape plate beneath the seat. Do they also have a serial number like the one that you showed me?
I am new with the TWN's. I don't know much about them.

Thank you for your answers.
Best regards!

I have only after war frames. The 250H has no number stamped into the frame, only at the plate.
Later model 250L has a number in the frame.
Engine number of my first model BD engine is here.

Hello Gabi,
the BD250 engine number you fill find on the crank case in the area of ignition housing.
There are 2 holes for wiring in the Aluminium, you have to clean with brush,
then you can see it.

The difference between
BD 250 Series I 1939-1941
BD 250 Series II 1941-1943

The Frame in the area of exhaust manifold
SeriesI Two small tubes
SeriesII One thicker Tube acc. pic from Christian

Number of Spokes of wheels
SeriesI 40 pcs
SeriesII 36 pcs

Rear Frame
SeriesI Parts of Frame connected with riverts
SeriesII Left and right Side is pressed and welded as single tube

Which one do you have ?

kindly regards

Hello, Manfred!
Because I saw that you are from Austria, I will introduce myself like this...

http://www.puchklub.at/Home/forum/read.php?1,119133

That is me and my Thema on that Forum. I hope that nobody on this Forum will be upset because of that link. If I made a mistake, I apologize.

Now I think that I found another bike to work on. In fact there are two to three TWN's in parts (small parts) and I think that I will be able to made one almost complete (maybe mixed) TWN from all those parts.

Hello Gabi,
PUCH is very common in Austria,
it is easy to restore,
every part you can buy new

www.puch-rbo.at

Regarding your ( 2 or 3 PCs ) TWN BD 250
you can send me some Pictures ( PN )
I will tell you if it is Series I or II

Very impotant to own :

Suittable engine for the Frame
Snorkel to air filter in oil tank ( if Wehrmacht editrion )
Front hub with speedometer and rear hub including Transmission bolts 3 or 4 pin and Brake plates
Petrol Tank with tool box ( if Wehrmacht editrion )

If you Need some Series I parts, I am able to offer,
because my ( Grandpa´s ) BD 250 is Series II
( 1943 Wehrmacht Stachelschwein )

kindly regards
Manfred

Hello, Manfred!

Regardind the Puch... Probably it is easy to restore if you buy new parts and just mount them together. But I have not done that with my 125 Puch. On my Puch 125 I took into account the smallest details, like original screws (Verbus), original spokes thickness (3mm), air filter (Knecht), carburretor (Graetzin K16A), headlight (Hella), wheels (PRANAFA) and so on. You can see all of them stamped on the parts of my Puch. That VDO tacho has stamped on his back "10. 44" (October 1944) and it had to be restored to look like that. It is not a new replika. My Puch it even has a Noris HB6 horn, like Zundapp KS750/BMW R75, because that is the type of horn that was used on Puch 125 during the WWII period. That horn was found with metal detectors on the battlefield, under the ground and it had to be restored to look like that.
Although it is a small bike, I worked hard on her and was not an easy job to bring her to that state.

Regardind the TWN... You were very helpful, because now I understood the things even better. Christian Wolf, which seems to be an extraordinary guy, already enlightened me with some details and then you came and made more light.

Thank you very much, Manfred, for all the help.
Best regards!

Hallo Christian,

meine Serie II BD 250 ist 1943
wurde aber ( vermutlich noch im Krieg )
mit Serie I Teilen repariert.

Ich habe den dicken Brustrahmen,
vorne steckt die Serie I Trapezgabel

So eine hintere Felge Serie I

Serie I Räder in Serie II Rahmen !

Lediglich das linke Distanzstück ,
welches das hintere Rad spurt,
hat unterschiedliche Längen .

lg
Manfred
